I’ve been seeing this house on Divis lately, really noticing it. And for the longest time I couldn’t decide if it was a love or hate affair. I tried to snap a pic as I rode by on the bus, but the house was fickle and the bus was quick. {and I’m slow with the iphone draw apparently…}

But then I saw this via pinterest…

…and I knew that mint and olive were, in fact, meant to be together. I would wear this any day of the week. So my mint and olive love was born. {The house is minty with olive trim.}

I have a killer sweet tooth. I’ve had it my whole life; You can ask my mom or dad, college roommates, best friends…AND my sister is the same way. I thought Pinterest would be all about pretty clothes and decor for me but it turns out that one of my largest pinboards is YUM. You can probably guess what it’s about: Food {…and men}.

Some of the most drool-worthy recipes I’ve found so far:

• Nutella meringues
• Lemon merignue cupcakes
• S’mores cakelettes
• Rhubarb upside down cake
• Cake batter rice crispy treats
• Orange creamsicle cupcakes

I’m going to a BBQ this weekend, and I’m going to bring something sweet, I just can’t decide what to bring! I’m thinking about ice cream sandwiches, but that could be a little tricky given the whole frozen/melty component.

Now if I could just get to cooking/baking more than once is a blue moon!

Totally in love with ban.do’s new site. I would rock this look every day if I could {confetti included}. Instead I had to settle for buying a giant hot pink heart, which shipped the same day I ordered it might I add. Ah-mazing.

Yesterday I was catching up on blog reading and was totally overwhelmed by spring trends popping up everywhere…

But you know I would wear this in a heartbeat, right?

Oh. My. Maybe a full skirt like this will be on my list of things to make in 2011.

In other news, crop tops still scare the bejesus out of me. They remind me of high school, when I would wear them with overalls with my magenta pager tucked into the front pocket like I was the bizness.

To be honest I’ve been hmm’ing over fashion illustrations for at least 2 years. My last apartment didn’t have much wall space {lots of windows} and I could never decide if I wanted one fluid look throughout the small space or different looks for different areas. And thus the walls stayed pretty much blank…but I’m happy I waited! With my new {awesome} room {yes, pics STILL forthcoming}, I decided to finally pull the trigger. Can’t wait to get these lovely ladies framed!

Old News: Pantone Spring 2011 color report…everyone is dying over honeysuckle! And I agree, yum {bold & cheerful, what’s not to LOVE}…but I think I actually prefer mine as an accent. Especially when paired with some of Pantone’s other top colors for the season.
New News: Using honeysuckle in decor & in the middle of winter no less. {don’t forget all images are clickable if you want to see them up close and personal!}

I’d like to come home from work tonight wearing the delicious coat below, climb into that tub for a long soak, and then immediately get into the gorgeously made bed and admire the needlework on my night table. mmmm. A girl can dream, no?

For the most part I have been a pretty good girl this year {don’t count the late nights out at clubs, drinking too much caffeine, or sometimes spending money I don’t reallllly have. but that barely happens, promise.}

In addition to wanting things that I “need” like new black tights, sheets, and a carry-on suitcase, I would be one happy camper if any of the following things made an appearance in my life sometime soon.

By all accounts, I’d say it was a successful weekend. Mega shopping trip on Saturday for LDK and Charlie’s engagement photo shoot yielded one of my fave looks for fall, a sheer top layered with a military inspired cardigan, skinny jeans, and boots {can’t wait to see the results!}. Other things I did this weekend:

• Went grocery shopping
• Cleaned my apartment
• Got mega blisters from wearing new shoes {flats, of all things} out shopping
• Watched the Giants games
• Kicked ass in fantasy football
• Hosted a brunch
• Crashed and burned by taking a 2.5 hour nap on Sunday {I deserved it}
• Indulged in some yummy hot chocolate
• FINALLY ordered a flip cam.
• Mad Men finale — Did you watch? What did you guys think?

And in other {quasi/related} news, I am IN LOVE with this outfit:

Every. Single. Thing. About it. I wish I was taller so that I could wear this kind of skirt. In general this length scares me because it could so easily be frumpy. I’m 5’3″ and unless they’re short, skirts with volume kind of overwhelm my frame. I have the same issue with maxi dresses. le sigh. Maybe I’ll try it anyway.
