What’s in a Name?

by Kate Franco on March 24, 2010 · 7 comments

I am admittedly new to flickr…and not sure how I feel about posting my own photos {I am definitely NOT a photographer…though I REALLY wish I was!} but I do definitely enjoy finding new faves. Just thought I would share some of them with you. You can visit the original photographers by going to my flickr favorites page.

Do you see a theme in my faves? How would you label it? {obvi, I am obsessed with labeling styles.}

How-To: Celebworthy & Everyday

by Kate Franco on March 22, 2010 · 4 comments

Well loves, this was supposed to be last Monday’s post…and it would have been more current and appropriate then…but I was sick. I’ve taken some of my fave looks from the Oscars and matched them to related pieces that us “little people” can afford.

RachelMcadams_Oscars2010.jpg

  1. Made of Me Watercolor Floral Scarf, Nordstrom, $38
  2. Watercolor Tank, Banana Republic, $69.50
  3. Johnny Martin Watercolor Chiffon Dress, $15 Dollar Store, $15

To get this look try a watercolor print for soft and ethereal look. Let the watercolor stand out by keeping the jewelry minimal and simple. The color palette of the dress isn’t quite what I was going for…but I couldn’t resist because it was only $15. Can you believe that?! The nice part is that all of these pieces are available in multiple colors, so you can choose the palette that works best for you. 🙂

And, thanks for all the well-wishes. I am feeling sooooo much better!

The Weekend is Coming to a Close…

21 February 2010

This weekend I: Cleaned my apartment…kind of. Planned a menu for tomorrow’s dinner with Kim. {Brussels sprouts with white beans and pecorino. And pilaf, yum} Watched both of these: Factory Girl and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Two style icons in one day! Edie Sedgwick and Audrey Hepburn are both completely mesmerizing in completely different ways. Incredible. […]
