How To: Floral for Fall

I decidedly have a really hard time wearing floral. I’m just not a super-girly girl when it comes to fashion. I’ve been toying with ways to wear floral for fall…ideally, I want it to be less sweet and a little bit more tough and rugged. And I think I’ve found the solution; it goes something like: earthy knits, denim, and chains (plus, I’m staying away from pink).

Outfit Above: Cardigan, $350, Boss Orange; top, $388, Jill Stuart Collection; bra, $106, The Lake & Stars; jeans (cut into shorts), $69.50, Levi’s; hat, $35, Wooden Ships by Paola Buendia; necklaces, $175 to $288, bracelets, $125 & $150, Giles & Brother by Philip Crangi; model’s own boots. On eyes: Max Factor MAXeye Liner in Nightclub. Image via

Still not sure you’re totally into the floral thing? Try a floral accessory. Fall 2009 is a fan of flowers on necklaces/earrings/headbands/shoes/etc. Headband shown above from JenniferBirge.
