Little Lessons on a Tuesday

by Kate Franco on February 1, 2011 · 9 comments

  1. Donator’s remorse: I REALLY wish I would have saved those pants {see above}. I had gauchos just like this sometime around 2005 and got rid of them as soon as the trend faded {I dropped it like it’s hot.} Lesson: everything old is new again.
  2. Chambray is not denim!
  3. I am SUPER scared of my new camera. It’s embarrassing. Finally got all of the components out tonight, charging the battery, etc.
  4. I love waffle cone in my ice cream but not with my ice cream {Americone Dream, anyone? OMG.}
  5. Love this cute little version of a style file. Gold glitter? Be still my heart.
  6. Did Olivia Palermo agree to be on The City because she knew it would propel her to fashion stardom? She just constantly looks jaw-dropping and it blows my mind.
  7. My skin is a disaster…dry eyes, flaky skin, dark circles and now I’m breaking out. Worst breakout I’ve had in like 5 years. Is it stress? Aren’t I supposed to be past the whole pimply teenager thing? {coming up on 29, over here.}
  8. I FINALLY canceled my Crunch gym membership. Man, that felt good.
  9. 30×30 day #1 was a #fail. I didn’t use my new camera AND I haven’t even taken pictures of all the pieces I’m going to use. I was so tired today that 1. I fell asleep on the subway {uhhh} and 2. I changed into pajamas the second I walked in the front door…hence, no pics.
  10. I used to be anti-asparagus, but it turns out that I actually kind of like it if it’s chopped up in pasta. With sausage.

Yay I made your list! 🙂 Glad you liked it!

Also, I was terrified of my camera when I got it too! It was such a big investment, and looked so complicated, I was scared to start!

I know what you mean about letting go of items that seem to come back around… I keep thinking of things I used to own that would be so stylish now! But I guess it’s better to have a wardrobe that’s under control.

And my skin is out of hand lately too… I just turned 30, maybe it’s the weather? Yuck. No fun.

#3… you just have to PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE even if it’s at home until you get used to the camera. Check for online tutorials and read the manual, that might help. But I know exactly how you feel. I’m still figuring out a camera I got for Christmas.
