If you’ve been reading this little blog for awhile, you know that I’m a crafty lady. {Even though I’ve haven’t blogged about such things in more than a year.} If you’re new to Undeniable Style, welcome! Hi! I’m Kate, and I’m a crafty lady {from time to time}.
This was the last of my SwapLulus finds {see the other three}Â and I was SUPER stoked about it…before I got home and tried it on. Then I realized that it fits in a less-than-ideal way. I wore it once to work as a shirt, tucked into jeans, and was instantly convinced that my problem was solved.
So, I’ve had this project in mind for awhile:
Simple enough.
Sweet, even.
Maybe you’d think that getting back into sewing might be a challenge; I’m surprisingly adept with a needle and thread. In fact, the hardest part of this outfit was the shoot. I rushed home from work, determined to catch the “good light” {which I’m told is at it’s most buttery finest from 4-6ish}. And in the 15 minutes I took to make myself presentable wouldn’t you know that the fog rolled in and the wind picked up.
So instead of crisp, bright photos you get some pretty soft gray ones. On the upside, I do like the shirt. AND I totally forgot how much I adore these shoes. Can’t wait to wear them ALL fall!

So cute! I am definitely going to use this. See…I have this little problem. I love the look of shift dresses, but they never fit me right. I’m actually a petite person, but for some reason my hips are just wide enough to make a shift dress loose in the bust and tight on the hips, which is not the look I am wanting to rock. This would be a great way to still get the beautiful cut up top. Thanks for the idea!
Love the edit you made to this dress. It looks great as a shirt.
KATE FRANCO. That was MY dress!!!!!!!!!!! And it did fit weird!!!!!!! Which is why I brought it to swap! And you sneaky little thing snatched it up and made it CUTE?! I would be annoyed if I didn’t like you so much. I hope you find this as hilarious as I did.
¡¡¡Fashion Soulmates!!! End of story.
aww I love that you did this!! YOu are quite the crafty lady!! And that masked leopard print is pretty awesome, you had to do something to incorporate it into your day to day wear 🙂
