One of my favorite things to do is to spend an afternoon cruising Valencia in the Mission. Wandering in and out of local shops, snacking on some seriously amazing food, and finding hidden gems makes me happy. This top is one such hidden gem — a vintage piece from Afterlife — on the hanger it pretty much looked like a muumuu. Looks can be deceiving and I bought it anyway; I’ve been loving it ever since.
Vintage style is not typically my thing, but I’ve found that if you mix a vintage piece with something modern {like bleached denim and ankle boots} it somehow takes the granny out of the vintage style piece.
Also: I have this weird thing going on in my closet where 90% of my tops graphic tees. I mean, I know they’re cool, but it feels pretty juvenile. So, I’m on the hunt to diversify my collection.
This skirt has been on constant rotation since I got it in December. The cotton is so thick that it’s like flannel and it’s perfect for chillier days — especially when paired with boots and a leather jacket. As far as I’m concerned, I could wear this every day and feel happy. Plus, there’s just something so ladylike about a skirt and boots. Ladylike without being too girly, you know what I mean?
Paired with the nerdy {and I like it} tee, I think I might coin this look Alexander McQueen’s naughty librarian, or something of the sort. Dig it? Make sure you check out some of my favorite midi skirt + graphic tee combos, below.
I’ve been living in this vintage skirt I found recently on Poshmark — it’s so cozy and festive for this time of year. I’ve been wanting a red tartan plaid midi skirt, and this one magically surfaced on Poshmark for $20. Done and done, thank you very much. The skirt is made out of the softest thickest cotton, almost like a flannel. Surprisingly warm, especially when paired with some riding boots.
I’ve worn this outfit for a couple of different holiday parties this season and always felt comfortable AND stylish. Though, I will be skipping the crop top for our family dinner tonight, FYI.
