So, I tried to sell this scarf on Poshmark, but it was so dang cold in our office that I just ended up wearing it around, to meetings and such, and then never got around to listing it. I particularly took to it with this outfit, adding an extra element of glam to a pretty bohemian feeling kimono. Right?
Speaking of, this kimono jacket is one of my favorite pieces but it’s never made it onto the blog. Like all of my favorite pieces, it’s so easy feeling. Made of a vintage silk, it’s one of the few silk pieces I own. {Wayyyy to delicate for the way I live life + definitely not klutz-proof.}

Technically, I first wore this outfit to a costume party — Studio 54 themed, no less. But how much of a costume could it really be, if I’ve been dying to wear it in real life?
I’d been obsessing over the Motel Jet Playsuit ever since I saw it on Poshmark months ago. I was bummed that it had sold, but continued to be on the lookout. It was in the back of my mind as I learned the details of this ’70s themed party. Jumpsuits and rompers have such a retro glam vibe — perfect for Studio 54! And after a little digging, I finally found it on NastyGal; it was luckily delivered the day before the event {see: disco miracle}.
The balloon sleeve, deep v and playsuit elements paired with the faux fur chubby jacket are my idea of ’70s glam. I felt like Bianca Jagger — minus the white horse — and loved every minute of it! I also wore a huge rhinestone comb in my hair, pulling back one side of deep side part. Yes.
A note about the fit
I’m wearing a Small, and probably could have gone with an XS and been fine. At the time of purchase I was worried about it being too short and tight in the booty. I wanted it to fit kind of flowy. Size Small was fine, just used fashion tape the night of the event to make sure top was secured into place. Worked like a charm, and was even able to wear a regular bra.
Jumpsuits and rompers for holiday
Despite it’s costume introduction, I’m pretty sure this is the epitome of the holiday season for me. Jumpsuits and rompers will definitely make a statement, but don’t feel too flashy. A perfect alternative to sequins and sparkle if you’re looking to go a different route for your holiday parties this season. Though I did see this same playsuit in a sequin variation, so cute!
PS: This exact romper is on sale at NastyGal! Swoop on it quick!
