I made these scalloped shorts at the end of the season last year and rediscovered them in the back of a drawer last week. Inspiration struck! Paired with mixed neutrals and a tweed jacket, the concept of cutoffs is totally elevated. A handful of rings toughen it up. This look is also easily dressed down with sandals or flats for a great weekend run-about-town kind of look. I have a feeling I’ll be wearing these a lot this summer. :)Linking up with Real Girl Glam andFriday’s Five!

I’m also trying to save some cash. When I got this scarf, because of its size, my imagination went wild with all the different ways to wear it. And then, right before I fell asleep last night I had an epiphany: YOU CAN MAKE A SCARF INTO A KIMONO guys, for real!

…So that’s what I did.

How to turn your scarf into a kimono:

  1. Lay the scarf on the floor and take the bottom corners and fold them upward and inward to create a trapezoid shape {when was the last time you thought about a trapezoid? Yeah, me neither.} See janky image below for reference.
  2. Take two small safety pins and pin the corners of the scarf into place

This creates two “armholes” that you can put your arms through, creating a cape-like effect. To make it look more like a kimono, I draped some of the extra fabric over my arms like you would a shawl or a wrap. Voila! Instakimono.

I love that this Lone Ranger scarf from Theodora & Callum scarf feels effortless, and even though its got a lot of pink in it, it reads as a neutral tone. Casual and perfect for summer, this is one of my very favorite outfits in a long time.
