I always like to stand out in the sea of black dresses that is NYE. 2008 – chartreuse. 2009 – cobalt blue. And this year will be no exception. I’ve narrowed it down to 2 looks. A coral mini with a gray long sleeve lace top…evoking this kind of feeling:
…even though you know I don’t look like THAT or anything {oh,Bambi}. You get the picture. Option #2 is a little more classic & I’m really on the fence about it because I don’t usually wear red. Odd that I’m wavering on something so classic & am not scared in the slightest about wearing something so bold as a sheer lace top.
Ruching and pleating? Oh my! Which one would you wear? How would you accessorize?

I’ve been so uninspired by dresses this holiday season; it just seems that everything looks the same. So far I’ve gotten away without buying anything new for holiday parties (unless you count my amazing fur* coat). Now I’ve worn all my cocktail dresses, so it’s time to buy something new and really special for NYE.
After some digging, I found three worthy candidates.

I had been thinking that the Nicole Miller dress reminded me of something…but I couldn’t put my finger on it until I saw this: Ms. Houseman in Dirty Dancing, anyone? Works for me, I could use some old-school glamour.
Also, has anyone else noticed the one-shoulder trend that is huge this season? I first remember wearing this look in 2002, and got really tired of it…but am so happy it’s back!
