A little bit behind schedule, I’ve decided to move forward with 4 simple goals. One of my big goals for 2010 was to try and be more positive {see #20}. Soooo, instead of feeling lackluster, I’m trying to focus on areas that I CAN improve. And without further ado, my 4 simple goals:
Send my grandparents a little something sweet — I’ve already mentioned how scary it is to watch the ones you love age. To be perfectly honest, without the mobility that they used to have, I’ve been thinking a lot about loneliness & connection to the outside world. Something cheerful and sweet should brighten their day, right?!
Eat purer foods — In the process of reading Food Rules, and just can’t get past this advice: don’t eat anything that contains ingredients you can’t pronounce.
Get my sewing machine fixed — pretty self-explanatory, but I feel like I’ll have less blog envy if I am creating happiness of my own!
Create a happy place — No, my apartment isn’t the house of my dreams {a dining table & separate live/sleep spaces would be nice}. But, rearrange the furniture, change the color scheme, don’t let it be a permaclothesexplosion {probably the biggest problem of all: cluttered with clothes!} & I should be back in business. Get MY space back to a place I want to be, instead of a space where I’m merely existing.
I’ll keep you updated on my progress!

Way to go! I keep meaning to put together my own list…
what a fabulous list. I would love to eat purer foods as well. I recently bought Alicia Silverstone’s book with high hopes but have yet to read it. Good luck with you goals. Happy Weekend
I’m with you on #4, closet clean out sale on eBay in the works!
#2, I was a bio major…so I can pronounce them all, dammit!
Love the last one! I’ve barely scratched the surface of decorating our place but just the brainstorming sessions have changed my old nickname for this place (“satan’s a**hole) to a place that I now appreciate as our warm cozy homebase & reconnection “charging” station! 🙂
…and we sleep in the kitchen. literally. galley kitchen & breakfast nook turned 2nd bedroom separated by an island. 🙂
