Recently, I’ve been completely enamored with red lips. They ooze glamour, sex appeal, and mystery. A woman who wears red lipstick conveys power and control. In other words, red lips symbolize everything I want. Until now, I’ve been too intimidated to wear it, but with the new year and a new me, I decided to take the plunge.
Since I’ve never owned a red lipstick, I did some research and decided to try the most highly recommended products. I went slightly nutso at Sephora and bought the selection below – only a sampling of what’s to come!
(In case you are wondering, this is what obsession looks like.)
It will be a long process, but I’m committed to finding the perfect red lip or at least falling in love with a few. So, be on the lookout for more hot stuff because red lips (and me by association) are ready to bring it. 🙂

I’ve also been thinking about red lips this year – what a great collection you have already!
Last night Phil and I were watching a TV show from the early ’90s. The fluorescent orange lips hypnotized so much we missed an entire scene. I request a lip retrospective – trends in color, type (shiny? matte?), arrangement (minimalist on the lip vs painting new lips entirely). And if you want to expand it to makeup trends in general, maybe you can explain why my mom’s generation seems to slather on some very pink lipstick and declare it done, while I’m more likely to give my eyes some scant attention and call it a day.
your lipstick habit is outta control!!!
can you give some advice to us not willing to purchase so many different kinds to narrow down the choice (does hair/skin color matter? do I need liner? are the more expensive brands really better?) I expect a comprehensive follow-up!
Thanks for the information you shared that’s so useful and quite informative and i have taken those into consideration….
