Little Lessons on a Tuesday

by Kate Franco on November 23, 2010 · 6 comments

*small disclaimer that a lot of these will be about moving, since it has consumed my life in the past week.

  1. Sugar free vanilla = gross. Salted caramel hot chocolate = amazing.
  2. The hardest part about #30×30 is the no shopping thing. There’s something I reallyreally want, and I am afraid it’s going to sell out!
  3. I donated over 60 items of clothing to goodwill last week, and both of my dressers are still full. {Yes, I have two. I also have 2 loads of laundry to do, too.}
  4. I can’t eat granola or oatmeal. Sadness.
  5. I like feeling handy. I was SO proud of myself when I: 1. assembled my bed 2. fixed my bookcase & 3. repaired the mirror for my vanity in one night.
  6. My measure of success for moving was that if I made it through the day without crying, it would be a stellar day.
6a. It was an actual thunderstorm on Saturday…thunder, lightening, wind. The poor movers were absolutely soaked to the bone.

6ai. Everything had to be shrink wrapped and blanket wrapped to protect it from the elements, costing time, costing money.
6a2. The movers got stuck in traffic both ways because the city was a traffic disaster.
6a3. Cost way more than I expected, but still TOTALLY worth it.

      6b. I didn’t shed a single tear.

6bi. BIG thank you to all of the people who helped facilitate my move & the unpacking.

  7. I cannot believe I made it through the busiest month ever! Now onto FUN holiday shopping and decorating! eee!
  8. Some people thought I was crazy for going for a mint green wall. I think it actually works really well with the rest of the room. Without the furniture, I thought it looked like a nursery…and I kind of maybe might have freaked out a little bit {internally}. With the furniture, {especially the zigzag rug} it looks bomb!
  9. This season is THE season where I remember why I work in e-commerce/retail. Holiday sales are such a rush! I live for it.
  10. I have workingmanhands from this move. EW. How long do you think it will take for them to go back to normal?

Aw! I’m so glad you had a somewhat good move (no crying!) and also donating all that stuff to Goodwill! I just did that too! Now my closet is empty ha

Sugar free vanilla is GROSS! Right on.

Congrats on move with no tears! I have never accomplished that 🙂

on workingmanhands …. I still have them and I haven’t done that kind of physical activity in years :-/ So just make sure you stop lifting things quick!

I’m sure this won’t make you feel better, but those moccasins are gorgeous!

As a fellow remixer, I will say that there is no ban on gifts. Maybe someone will buy them for you. Or, you can buy someone something they need and you can get that in return.
There are ways around that little rule 😉
