- Operation waxed denim was a FAIL. The wax never cured, and my jeans are now, quite literally, a hot sticky mess. It kind of felt good to fail though, is that weird?
- Spammers are getting smarter. Sample, recent spam comment: “First, I’m so proud of you. Second you always looks foalubus {read: fabulous, obviously}. And I’m not just saying that (because when do I ever just say something?)…you always look SO put together from the pictures that I see, and you carry yourself so well.” Okay, I don’t care if you’re spam…I’ll take it.
- I’m a sucker for strong female vocals; can’t believe I forgot all about Joss Stone.
- You guys! I have arm muscles! You can see them sometimes. That is great motivation to stay the course; I remember how much I used to like looking fit.
- Promote what you love instead of bashing what you hate.
- The first short story I ever wrote that was seen by more people than just my immediate family was titled, “Blue Smoke & Baby Soft” — I think I might miss writing.
- The above picture can be counted technically as my first published books, written in 2nd grade. A 3-part series: “My Brother” “My Friends” and “The Easter Bunny”. I would also like to point out that in all my stories I’m wearing pink and purple.
- I LOVE spending other people’s money! Went to the Vacaville outlets on Sunday to help a friend find a whole new wardrobe. Post coming soon! If you want me to help you spend yours, email me. kate {at} katefranco {dot} com.
- Since we’re on a kid kick, another fun fact from my childhood: I’ve created at least 3 board games in my lifetime. 2 of them were so complex I was always the winner. #winning.
- At least 3/7 nights a week I have to tell myself to be a grown up. That’s actually what I say. Kate, be an adult. Get up, wash your face, take your contacts out, etc. I’d say I succeed more than 50% of the time.
