The highlight of my recent dentist appt. was perusing the September 2009 issue of House Beautiful. I hate to admit that I haven’t ever paid much attention to this magazine…but this issue was gorgeous, and all about COLOR.
Things That Inspire recently completed the quiz in Last Words section of the magazine, posted her results, and invited other bloggers to do the same. I’m up for the challenge, so here we go!
Q: What is the first color you see in the morning?
A: Hopefully beautiful brown eyes…

A: Green
Q: What color do you wear the most?
A: Green, again? Not sure.
Q: What color do you never wear?
A: Red, except for lipstick maybe…sometimes.
Q: What do you color do you wear when you want to feel confident?
A: Black, it’s a power color. and totally flattering.

A: Green
Q: What color is your lipstick?
A: Berry, Pink, Coral. Lipstick is unusual for me, though.
Q: What color was your living room growing up?
A: Green?
Q: What color was your bedroom growing up?
A: Purple (looong story behind this one!)
Q: What color are your sheets?
A: Taupe & White, or Green
Q: What color was favorite crayon as a child?
A: Jungle Green & Robin’s Egg Blue. Can you tell I am having a really hard time choosing one color responses?
Q: What color is your car?
A: Hah! City Living, baby. No car. But I’d choose a little Robin’s Egg Blue Mini. K? Thanks.
Q: What color was your prom dress?
A: Which one? Plum, and Coral with Gold accents.
Q: What is your favorite flower?
A: Poppies
Q: What color makes you happiest?
A: Peacock Blue, Orange, Kelly Green. I always think I like yellow, and then it’s never exactly what I envisioned. Still trying to work that color into my apartment!
Q: What color depresses you?
A: Can color really be depressing?
Q: What color calms you?
A: Navy or Grey, in the most lovely way.
Q: What color makes you grind your teeth?
A: Seafoam Green and Peach. It reminds me of the 80’s in the worst possible way
Q: What color would you like to try, but are scared to?
A: I am not afraid of color! You are talking to the girl of neon yellow nail fame, after all.
Also REALLY enjoyed the numerology section that decides your color based on your name. You can see for yourself, here. My result was: GREEN. It seems that it holds true after taking this quiz, though there are also a lot of orange-ish responses thrown in there. According to numerology, both colors point to balance, which also happens to be the main characteristic of my astrological sign…Libra (aka the scales). Hmmmm.

It’s a shame you don’t wear red - I think you’d look amazing in it. But, I love red, so maybe I’m biased.
It would be really interesting to see one’s own color changes through the different stages of life.

I’m a yellow - if I do “Jessica” - Cheerful, charming, magnetic, intelligent, confident, and creative. Somewhat psychic, and enigmatic. A good leader and negotiator.
