After I hung these, I did one more just because, but I don’t have a picture of it yet. Overall pleased, but it makes me want to do a for real inspiration board, like the ones over at Made by Girl & Ish & Chi.

I’ve also found some cute tutorials lately, one for an oversized mood board, and another for a leaning mood board. lovelovelove.

What inspires you lately?
This weekend I:
- Cleaned my apartment…kind of.
- Planned a menu for tomorrow’s dinner with Kim. {Brussels sprouts with white beans and pecorino. And pilaf, yum}
- Watched both of these:

Factory Girl and Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
Two style icons in one day! Edie Sedgwick and Audrey Hepburn are both completely mesmerizing in completely different ways. Incredible. It’s crazy to me that Breakfast at Tiffany’s debuted in 1961, and Edie Sedgwick was dubbed the first “it-girl” in 1965-ish. Same era, same city, worlds apart. Well, of course, Breakfast at Tiffany’s is fictional and all.
But I digress. I also:
- Finished my clipboard project…and the cross stitch part of my cross stitch pillow. It’s been raining all day, as predicted, so it was a great day for catching up on things. Pictures to come soon, promise!
- I read this from cover to cover. Un-inspiring projects, but extremely informative. I’ve already started carving a stamp for a project I’m thinking of. I actually think I am really going to get into this mixed media thing. It’s perfect for me {here’s why}!
Sad that it’s over, but it lovely while it lasted.

You may or may not have read the tweet late last week about my haircut. After cutting off some length and going for bangs the last time around (huuuuge transition), I was just going in for a trim. I loooove my stylist…rave about her actually….but I’m still feeling like this cut is too short all the way around.
It looked cute the first night, styled professionally, and on one of the best dates, ever. Butttt since then it’s kind of been a certifiable disaster. My favorite comment was, “I’m trying to decide if I like your hair or not. It’s kind of retro…I think my mom had that hair cut in the 80′s.” Quickly followed by, “and I think my mom is the most beautiful person in the world.”
But the moral of the story is this: a.} I DO like standing out in a crowd b.} It’s just hair and it’ll grow back {stimulated by some powerful omega-3s}. AND c.} I’m a grown up because I haven’t even cried once.

Oh, and yes…the hair clip is a project from the lovely Rachel Denbow that I talked about last week. Happy Monday!
So I usually have pretty structured posts, but I have nothing structured to write about today, and I’m about 5 minutes from falling asleep, but I so very much wanted to pop in and say hi. So let’s do a little Monday recap for fun.
I’ll be honest and say, my day probably would have been a lot better with this:

And all of the incessant raining in sf makes me desperate for summer, wearing airy little clothes & being tan (I’m such a girl, I know).

I ordered some new style school supplies {1 of 2 bad things about living in sf and not having a car…NO immediate access to crafty goodness!} and because I have to wait for everything to come, I didn’t do any crafting. Instead, I spent some time online {okay, 2+ hours} and came up with a couple great tutorials that are going in my file:
Lil’ floral hair clip & a flower paper lantern.
Relevant because…one of my to-do’s for this year is to get a chandelier for my apartment. Do we think I’ll actually be able to afford a chandelier? Um. no {well, not unless it’s this one}. But that flower paper lantern could maybe a good alternative. We’ll see.
Oh, and also, I bought this last weekend on Etsy:

I’m really excited. I needed something cheerful and sunny. This definitely fits the bill, & it fulfilled my requirement of buying original art for my apartment.
I guess that’s all for now, have a great Tuesday!

Well, I wanted to share a little peek of what I’ve been working on in the last couple of weeks…you can see more @ flickr or by checking out the style school flickr group!

I’m really excited for all the good things happening this week: hair cut (yes!), meeting up to get some new jewelry from the super-talented Lauren Ramirez, yoga on Tuesday, AND the best part is a funfunfun date with fj.
Hope you all have a lovely week, too!
