“Find out who you are and do it on purpose.” Dolly Parton
I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching in the last two years. Man, time flies. And I think at my core, I’m the same. But I’m so much deeper and so much more complex that I ever really realized. Have you discovered this about yourself yet? My whole life I’ve been doing all these things to create a wall, both numbing and protecting me. Now I feel everything, deeply. It’s amazing and awful and liberating all at the same time. It’s a better way of living; try the vulnerability thing, if even for a day. You won’t regret it.
That Dolly Parton quote is stamped into the necklace I’m wearing. Find your own on Bourbon and Boots!
More about the outfit
After years of print and color mixing, it seems I’ve hit a minimalist streak — when it comes to color combinations anyhow. I’m drawn to lots of army green, black, gray and tan. I really like the sleek silhouette of this outfit paired with the slick low chignon, a style I don’t often wear.

I love how you do minimalist! You look so great. Love the shoes, love love love!
Love the message. Life is such a ride and being open makes it that much more fun!
1. I love that quote, looking at the necklace stat.
2. THOSE BOOTIES THO. Ugh. I love this whole look!
And, I agree with you – even though being vulnerable is rough sometimes, it’s the only way to really be open to all the things life has to offer. And there are some amazing things out there! 🙂
