I’ve been playing around with a new {to me} site lately — The Hunt — and I think it is going to be GREAT for my Pinterest addiction. One of my gripes about Pinterest is the amount of content out there that isn’t linked to the original source. This is an issue for a number of reasons, but selfishly, it makes it harder for me to shop. I spot something I love and then I cannot, for the life of me, easily get to a place where I can just click the buy button.
The Hunt fixes that.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I offer a service called Outfit Hunter, and I know my way around the Internet, but The Hunt is just such a cool concept:
Upload a picture of the product you’re looking for and The Hunt community will find it!
Essentially, you can crowdsource your shopping quest to find a specific item or a look for less. So. Cool. You can even start a hunt right from your Pinterest board.
This growing community, with a quarter of a million active users no less, will help you just for the sake of helping you. It’s a truly altruistic experience, something that can be hard to find these days. Also, I like delving to the deep corners of the web to find elusive products that people thought were lost and gone forever — a challenging and rewarding experience.
Refinery 29 is calling it a global community of “sartorial hunters and gatherers” and I couldn’t agree more. Use The Hunt to search for recipes, home decor, beauty how-to’s and more. Mobile? Try the iPhone app that just launched! If you decide to try it out, let me know. You can find me {as always} as Kate Franco.
