Style Guide: Metallic Shoes

There’s no escaping it — metallics continue to be hot this season. I’ve been indulging in some less expected ways, like the retro vibe sandals featured above. Metallics can be brash and loud and attention-getting. So if that’s not your style, but you want to stay current, metallic shoes are a great way to incorporate a dash of the trend without getting too flashy.

Dare to wear to work? Here are some classic options. From the extreme holographic pump to the mild-mannered cap toe, there’s a ton of variety out there. My girl Adiel has been rockin’ some great metallic pumps lately – silver AND holographic — so inspiring!

Ankle Straps

Ankle strap heels and sandals are in and of themselves a big trend this year, but add metallic to that trend and you’ve got yourself a stunner. From casual flats like my shoemint sandals to delicate heels and wedges, get ready to knock yourself out.

My fave? Those cognac and silver wedges. Cute at an AMAZING price.

Retro Flair

I love me some 70’s/bohemian style, so it’s fitting that I would like metallic shoes with retro flair. But there’s some great art deco styles out there, too! Great Gatsby? Yes, please.

My Fave? The ones I own, obviously!

Fancy Flats

Not a heels girl? Not to worry. Obviously, metallic shoes come in flat styles too. A basic silver or a cap toe are both great options for work. Play on menswear with adorable oxfords or get sassy with some of the trendier styles like clear acrylic or lucite.

My fave? The clear and metallic flats. Edgy.
